Exhibition Outreach Application
For more than 141 years, the Art Students League of New York
has been committed to promoting the art of its emerging artists and members. To
further our mission, in July 2006 the League initiated the new Exhibition
Outreach program bringing the work of our emerging artists to exhibitions in
various venues throughout the New York metropolitan region.
In our tenth year the Exhibition Outreach program continues
to reach out to new venues and students. So far we have provided more than 500
students with over 95 exhibition opportunities to display their work and
allowed the public to see and appreciate the quality of these talented
painters, sculptors, printmakers, and draftsmen.
Once students submit their images and documents, their information will be added to the Exhibition Outreach Database. Throughout the year, the Exhibition Outreach Program mounts exhibitions in NYC-area corporate, medical and public spaces. Each exhibition lasts anywhere from 3, 6, to 9 months. Once the Outreach team finds the right match for a venue, we send digital albums of the submitted students' work as a proposal. Upon approval by the venue partners, we will contact the chosen artists and walk them through the process of participating in an exhibition.
Students will experience preparing their work, including photographing, framing , wrapping in sufficient protection and delivering their artwork to the location, keeping a record of their artwork, submitting their latest biography, resume and artist statement. We ask students to present themselves and their work on a professional level. The Exhibition Outreach program not only allows students to experience and understand how to be a professional but also helps students to build their resume.
The Art Students League of New York and its venue partners are not insured to cover more than $5,000.
